Carey Ng was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2013 on Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Setia City Convention Centre in Setia Alam. She will represent the country in the Miss Universe 2013 beauty pageant. The other finalists were: Natalia Ng (First Runner-Up), May Salitah (Second Runner-Up), and Symren Kaur (Third Runner-Up). Carey will represent Malaysia in the Miss Universe 2013 pageant next year.
Carey released a statement in response to her win on her Facebook Timeline yesterday, "Thanks to those who believed in me. And to those who didn't get why I won, I assure you the girls you've supported were all winners. They have been great competitors and queens in their own beautiful way. That will never change."
Carey is 23 years old and from Kuala Lumpur. According to her pageant profile she believes, "the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant is a great platform for young women to gain exposure and empower not only themselves, but other young women out there. Through the pageant, she hopes to obtain a voice to reach out to bigger audiences with greater influence for the causes that she believes in."
